Great news PS3 owning Minecraft fans: Minecraft is coming to PlayStation 3 in just a few days! Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition launches on Wednesday December 18th.

Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition will be exactly the same as the Xbox 360 Edition, so if you’ve played that version you’ll know what to expect. The texture packs will also be available on the PS Store very soon after the game is released.

Mojang have also announced that versions of Minecraft for PS Vita and PS4 will be released sometime in the future. The PS3 and PS4 versions may also support Remote Play on PS Vita, but Mojang are unsure if that will work yet. They say they’ll let us know when it’s confirmed.

So remember that date: the Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition release date is December 18th, and will be available to download from the PS Store.
